After speaking with some of the children that we support, it became clear that some of them have to walk sometimes up to 5 km to go to school. Can you imagine walking 10 km everyday just to go to and from school?! During the dry season, the soil is very dry and dusty and during the rainy season, the road is very wet and slippery. They get to school exhausted, thirsty and hungry, so this affects their performance in school and they sometimes end up dropping out.
For these reasons we decided to open a crowdfunding campaign to be able to give to some of them a bicycle that would make these journeys faster and less tiring.
Furthermore, in Tanzania children always help out around the house so having bikes would be very helpful whenever they need to go and collect supplies for their families from the village.
Having bikes would also be crucial to the children to have access to education. We would appreciate any contribution to provide the children a chance at education!
KISEDET’s vision is to empower the children and the youngsters of the community through access to education in order to reduce poverty.
HOW CAN I HELP?
We hope to collect 700€ to buy 10 mountain-bikes (70€ each). The roads are bumpy and muddy and those bikes would be more suitable and durable compared to other types.
