The Covid-19 pandemics made travelling impossible for quite a long time, thus after a few years Gruppo Tanzania Onlus landed in Dodoma last month to visit our organization. Mauro del Pino (president) and Giulia de Paolis (vicepresident) together with KISEDET NGO’s staff coordinated future steps necessary to continue the shared path of cooperation started in 1998 when Giovanna Moretti (KISEDET NGO’s founder) started this association in Italy in order to raise funds for supporting our activities in Tanzania.
Since last year, for the first time in the history of both organizations, Gruppo Tanzania Onlus initiated a new project funded by the Italian governmental department for youth and universal civil service which allows KISEDET NGO to host four young volunteers who work constantly for one year in our headquarter in Dodoma or at Chigongwe Family long-term shelter sharing their knowledge. This new experience required effortless coordination between our staff and Gruppo Tanzania Onlus volunteers and major adaptability. Mauro del Pino and Giulia de Paolis spent here one week observing and checking the quaility of the services provided by and to the four civil servants in line with the guidelines provided by the organization called Solidarietà e Cooperazione CIPSI which acts as an intermediary with the Italian government.
During the stay, they had the opportunity to visit our several projects, not only in the region of Dodoma, especially those financed by the other Italian partner Progetto Agata Smeralda ODV that sponsors children’s education.
Both travelled to Itigi together with our staff: we visited the Majengo ward office, met with Ward Executive Officer and introduced the purpose of visiting Itigi, we visited the office of the parental development fund and microcredit groups where they could learn about the activities carried out thanks to the fund and how the loans are managed.
Later, we went to Mlowa Primary School and, in particular, we met the 7 children with disabilities supported by KISEDET NGO among the 60 children with disabilities who attend the school and we participated in the distribution of school uniforms to 50 children, for which we finance the tailoring work. We managed to visit Itigi Secondary School and to deliver 11 football shirts in front of the school vice-principal, executive officer and education officer of Tambukareli ward. We also delivered a mattress and a bicycle to two young beneficiaries.
Finally, we visited one of the farms that we have supported through seed donation.
The objective is to increase cooperation and efficiency between Gruppo Tanzania Onlus and KISEDET NGO in order to attain our common goals.
Thank you for coming! Thank you for the constant effort!
